Effect of Adenosine Diphasphate Ribose on the Glycolysis of Rabbit Erythrocytes

Abstract
|
|
|
Adenosine diphosphate-5-ribose, which is produced from NAD by the action of NAD nucleosidase, markedly reduced the glucose consumption in the membrane free emolysate of rabbit erythrocytes.
The inhibitory effect of adenosine diphosphate-5-ribose on the glycolysis was found to be due to ribose-5-phosphate which is formed enzymically from adenosine diphosphate ribose.
